Trompe L'Oeil

From time to time I have put examples up of Trompe L'Oeil which I have encountered on my travels. I think this one is possibly my favourite so far. It's in Lewes and is referencing the Priory...the remains of which can still be seen today.

    1. I thought it was rather a peaceful scene.

  2. I have a soft spot for trompe-loeil but you do see some awful renditions where the perspective is so skewed.

    1. Yes it would spoil the whole point of it wouldn't it. There are some amazingly surreal examples on the internet.

  3. I had to look up what you meant. The history and art is so wonderful across the pond.

    1. I know what you mean Sam...I'm always having to google stuff I read on American blogs. Kool aid was one which springs to mind!
