Surprise, surprise!
I came home from work rather hot and bothered earlier this week only to find the above on my doorstep along with a bag of fresh spinach and one of chard. My Morris Dancing chum had stopped by unexpectedly and left me with some of the surplus of her allotment. Such a lovely surprise- it quite lifted my mood. I have inflicted a bottle of my elderflower champagne upon her in return so the bartering economy is alive and well here in Sussex!

You're both lucky women. By the way how do you stop elderflower champagne from exploding? I've haven't dared make it since my last experience but do love it. xx
ReplyDeleteI've never made it before but I've put it in swing top glass bottles [freecycle and Tesco do a lemonade in the same style bottles] and am keeping it in the garage. Having had two bottles of homemade strawberry wine explode a couple of years ago when we were away we learnt not to keep them indoors! Arilx
ReplyDeleteI'll keep my fingers crossed. I used old plastic soft drink bottles a few years back. After the explosion there was hardly any trace of them! x
