Mystery Object

 

Another post in an occasional series. Does anyone fancy having a go at guessing what this blue glass bottle was used for. Please feel free to comment below and I'll put the answer up tomorrow.

  1. My first thought was that it was a glass fire extinguisher but it looks like it has a metal band round the middle so I'm not too sure.

  2. Laudanum. It’s a wild guess, based on my recollection of blue glass being used for medicine bottles.

  4. Looks like a perfume bottle - we would never have guessed a fire (extinguishing) bomb.

Not bog standard.

Look at these beautiful cast iron panels. The design is called 'Floral Adamish' and is one of three which the company Walter Macfarl...
