Touching Souls

With the racism fallout following the Euro 2020 final this sculpture called "Touching Souls" by Mico Kaufman sits outside the abbey in Tewkesbury and seems rather timely.  Kaufman said that if you noticed one of his public sculptures please stop and ponder on its subject. It depicts the cultural interdependence which characterises our world and "reflects on the bond that substantiates our humanity".

  1. It is a hard thing to watch racism in your own country. Harder still to look up and see that it is happening all around the world.

    1. Thankfully some of the alleged perpetrators have been arrested. These young men who where on the end of this awful abuse are extremely talented players, but also philanthropic and doing some really good work in society along with other members of the team. Arilx

  2. Thanks for sharing. This is on my list of places to visit after reading about the sculpture last year.

    1. I have dashed past it a few times, but always rushing to do and dance, so it was nice to be able to have some time to explore on our visit this time. Arilx
