"In the midst of strife, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.
In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile.
In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.
In the depth of Winter, I finally learned that within me, there lay an invincible Summer.
And that makes me happy, for it says, that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there's something stronger."
Albert Camus
I took the photo of this late rose yesterday when we were out exploring.

I've often found this to be the case. Arilx
DeleteThe rose and the poem-both needed in a world full of thorns.
ReplyDeleteYou sometimes have to find a lot of thorns before you find the rose. Arilx
DeleteMy excuse for not rereading Camus' "The Plague" at this time is that my only copy is in French -- and I've not read novels in French since the last great plague some decades ago. As I recall, it was a good read, much better than "Knot of Vipers".
ReplyDeleteI have never read anything by him. Arilx
