Thankfully for us rose lovers they come in many more hues too and June is the month to see them in their prime. I've discovered today that the gardens [or at least some of them] at Hampton Court Palace are free entry so Arty L and I had a glorious few minutes wandering around enjoying the colours and the perfume before the heavens opened. Such a treat on a British Summer's day of sandals and brollies!

I love Roses, but for some reason they don't love me. I haven't a single one in my garden; they all die. There is one that is named after an ancestor (Lady Banks) which I'd love to have; my father had one that he'd dig up every time he moved house.
