I can't groan as I think this might be a carton lost in British to American translation. Or, perhaps I am just a little dense as I don't get it-ore likely the latter!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately that is the case. The Clangers is a children's classic programme from the 1960s and "to drop a clanger" means to say the wrong thing and embarrass yourself or another person.
