Bring me sunshine

February has brought a rather gloomy mantle of grey with her so far, but there are already lots of little signs of Spring and the days are already noticeably longer. On one particular rainy morning a couple of weeks back I cracked open the tin of felt tips and spent an enjoyable time doodling a Zentangle type thing. I'm a naturally tidy person when it comes to patterns and colours, but I did step outside of my comfort zone and insert a bit of randomness. It was a relaxing thing to do whilst I listened to Lee Harris on Youtube talking about intuition and good to use the creative side of my brain for once.

Yesterday ushered in another burst of colour with the exciting arrival of my new-to-me hippy cardigan [Ebay]. It was knitted in Ecuador and if it's anything like the other ones I bought 20 years ago it'll last forever....my other ones are still going strong. It was a lovely way to spoil myself with the money my clients had so kindly given for Christmas. Anyway I now think I'm in a position to give Prue Leith a good run for her money with her bright attire on the GBBO🌈🌈🌈

  1. Hi Aril, I'm longing for colour too at this time of year - I love your cardigan ... and the doodles - painting and doodling has been my secret joy during these quiet months.

    1. I dared to pick up a pencil after being inspired by the Grayson Perry artclub. I'm not very good, but I enjoy it and having been trying to not worry about how it turns out. Arilx

  3. I'm all for colour, my kitchen is testament to that, lol
Colouring is a great way of relaxing but my choice is jigsaws, the time just flies when I'm doing them.

    1. I love a good puzzle too. When colouring was all the rage I didn't get on with it, but just doodling free hand was quite relaxing. Shall probably do something completely different when I next fancy trying something. Arilx

  4. I admire people who can wrap themselves in color. I am a very self conscious person
    I wish that I weren't.

  5. I came across a box that had several boxes of crayons from some old school shopping I must have done. I may buy myself a coloring book, just because. I miss that my nephew (Who works for the same company) would bring in drawings every so often for me from his son, my great nephew.

Good Friday

Hope everyone has a good Easter break. I saw this massive pug shaped egg on one of my recent forays and the utter ridiculousness of it just...
