Shrove Tuesday 2022

So today it's pancake day and in Toddington the pancake bell would have been rung at 11am during the Victorian era to call the children to nearby Conger Hill near the church. Apparently they were then told to put their ears to the ground and listen for the sound of the local witch's cauldron sizzling away as she cooked her pancakes. Afraid it's just the bog standard lemon and sugar affair here at GBT and not a witch in sight !
