Thoroughly agree with that one. Personally, I try and "walk the tightrope" somewhere in between the two, as I cant afford to be a "giver", but I wouldn't agree with being a "taker".
ReplyDeleteCan we have a 3rd category on that one for those who are "pay their way people" LOL? I've had people compliment me before now on the way I work out scrupulously what its down to me to pay for and make sure I do.
Obviously "giving" and "taking" are not just financial things though are they? There are those who are forever doing things for other people (it counts if they aren't family iyswim) and my best friend is very much that sort of person. There are those who will take every favour they can get and never seek to "repay" on the other hand.
But...yep...I like to sleep easy at night and know I owe no-one anything - be it money or favours that I should be "paying up".
