If I was asked to define my personal taste I would probably find it easier to start by telling you what I definitely don't like. Knowing my own taste can be harder to pin down. There are many things I encounter that I really like, but they don't evoke a spontaneous response from the heart. Occasionally something does though...this extraordinary passion flower created by Maylee Christie was one such piece. It's on display at the Farnham Sculpture Park and if I had unlimited funds and a suitable place to do it justice I would buy it in a heartbeat. Instead I have my memories and photos. Hope you enjoy them.

That is my thing as well, it's amazing. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt's the colours and textures I like. Arilx
DeleteAnd I'd bid against you at the auction, Aril! That's the highest bar in my criteria for evaluating art: Would I have it in my home (if I could afford it). No doubt it's relevant that we both prefer structures and artifacts that have layers of detail...something into which we can immerse ourselves and escape rude reality. :)
ReplyDeleteI could have looked at it for hours. It took my breath away. Arilx
DeleteThat's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it too! Arilx

Seems like a lot of people have had a similar response. My photo doesn't really capture the intense colour of the piece. Arilx
DeleteThank you so much for your kind comments about my flower. It was a labour of love and knowing that it touched some hearts with it, makes me really happy. xxx
ReplyDeleteI consider myself the lucky one to have been able to see it! Arilx
DeleteYou're very kind, thank you! x
