Mystery Object.

Another one in a very occasional series- anyone care to hazard a guess?

This is an English acoustic pot dating from 1200-1500. Some churches had small openings in their walls where these were placed to improve the acoustics for the singing.

    I don't recognise this at all so my best guess is either a cooking pot or a burial pot,
